Good afternoon Grade 3 Families, 
The grade three teachers cannot speak to how much we appreciate all the hard work our families are putting forward as we navigate this new normal. The support and appreciation you send us, helps motivate us to work our hardest and bring our students engaging and purposeful activities. We are trying our best to use the feedback you send us, along with the question's students ask to modify the structure, length and challenge level of each assignment. Please continue to share your feedback both positive and constructive with us via email. 
Using the feedback from parents, we have made a small modification to the optional assignments. You will find now there is only one optional assignment called “Choice Board.” On this choice board, students can click on the picture or the words to start the task. For example, by clicking on the cursive writing pic, a PDF will open for students to print. In addition, we have added some science videos about rocks and minerals as this was one Science topic we did not get to explore prior to schools closing. As time goes on, we will add to this choice board.

Yesterday, our principal let you know that the Calgary Board of Education’s was activating Google Meet and Google Classroom to enable teachers and students to better connect with each other. This email outlines what to expect as we begin setting up times to connect with our students over the coming days. What a busy week we have had in room 8! The students have been working hard on their event centre plans, and are getting very excited for our trip to the Saddledome on the 25th! Today we worked on our TWAS writing, and the students had a chance to assess their writing using the rubric we created as a class. I then took the opportunity to mark their piece using the same rubric. Please take a look at the rubric and the writing together with your child and talk about what a specific goal they may have in terms of their writing. Please write their goal down in their book and send it back to school on Monday! If you have not done so already, please sign up for a Parent Teacher Interview time for next Thursday or Friday. Field Studies We are very excited for our field study on Wednesday! We now have enough volunteers for that field study! As we have so many field studies coming up forms will becoming out every week. It would greatly help me to have the forms returned as soon as possible so that I can keep on top of them! Studio Bell forms are coming home today. Please return them by Friday. Thank you to all of the parents who offered to volunteer for this trip! We have more than enough! We are still looking for volunteers for March 10th, and April 1st. In order to be able to take part in these activities we need to have at least 4 more volunteers for both dates. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to join us!
