Wow! What a day! I am so impressed with my class! They were great listeners on our field study! They were so engaged in what we were doing and were really excited about what we were learning! The students studied the art of Sybil Andrews and then created their own drawings of a subject in motion! In the afternoon we spent some time in one of the galleries studying artifacts from one of the countries we are learning about! It was a really great day! Tomorrow the grade 3s will have their proposals for their event centres on display in the iLab from 1:45pm - 2:30pm. Please feel free to come take a look at all of their hard work! At 2:30 everyone is invited to hear the choir sing and participate in our final carol sing of the year! Thank you!

It has been a very busy week in room 8! The students have been working extremely hard on completing various projects! We are pleased to announce that we are almost finished our proposals for the new event centre! This has been a huge undertaking for our students, and they have done a tremendous job! On Thursday, December 19th we will be setting up our proposals in the iLab and inviting parents in to see our work from 1:45-2:30pm. Have a wonderful weekend!

It was another eventful day in room 8! We had the wonderful opportunity to have Mrs. Cashin (Austin C's Grandmother) come in and show us how to make wreathes out of puzzle pieces! The students had a great time creating their beautiful masterpieces! They are very excited to bring them home in the next week or so to put on their Christmas trees! We are hoping to start our models of our event centres on Wednesday but are in desperate need of cereal box card board! If you have any that you wold like to donate please send them to school with your child as soon as possible! Our school is collecting non-perishable food items for the food bank. Last day for items to be brought in is Friday! Please return your students field study forms by Friday! Thank you to all of the people who have volunteered! We have enough volunteers! We will have another field study on January 30th, please let me know if you are interested in coming with us!   Caroling Schedule Monday, Dec 16th - 9:30am T

It has been a while since I posted on our blog, and for that I am very sorry! December seems to have hit our class with a but of a stomach bug! Please talk to you children about ensuring that they are frequently washing their hands - I know I will be chatting with them about this too! TWAS will give you a good idea of some of the things that the class did this week! They are such amazing kids, and I am so proud of how well they adapted to all of the subs they had this week! Miss. Bauer was here with them and made all the difference in the world! The students respond well to her! Today we had the opportunity to create Christmas cards to send to the Canadian soldiers who are stationed overseas and who will not be able to make it home for the holidays! The students were very thoughtful and creative with their cards! They really wanted the person who received their card to feel special!  Field Study forms are coming home today! Please return them by Friday, December 13th!
