May 19th - 22nd Learning Plans

Good afternoon Grade 3 Families, 
First of all we want to thank you again for your support and patience as we continue learning together in this new way. We recognize that there are many challenges to engaging in ongoing learning outside of the classroom. It seems like every week there is a new hill to climb for all of us but please know we could not do this without you. As a grade 3 team of teachers we are making adjustments to our plans and how we share our teaching with the students based on your feedback. Please continue to share your feedback both positive and constructive with us via email.  
Secondly, we are hoping that you get a chance to take a break this weekend and enjoy some fun. We have all been working hard at this new way of learning and it is a stretch for many of us. This upcoming 4 day weekend is a chance to refresh and recharge so we can come back ready to focus on finishing this year well. Whatever this may mean for your family we hope you are able to make some good memories together.

Hello!  Welcome to our first week of on-line learning. Thank you to all our families for being patient as we learn how to use new platforms and how to best communicate with our families. We know there will be hic-ups along the way.   We would like to begin by explaining our thought process in how we will move forward. Google Classroom and Google Meet

Yesterday, our principal let you know that the Calgary Board of Education’s was activating Google Meet and Google Classroom to enable teachers and students to better connect with each other. This email outlines what to expect as we begin setting up times to connect with our students over the coming days. Accessing Google Classroom for the First Time Starting on Monday, April 6, we will be using Google Classroom as a learning platform as we continue ongoing learning from home. Below is a brief introduction to Google Classroom and how students at Maple Ridge School will be accessing the tool. Calgary Zoo We had an awesome time at the zoo on Tuesday! It was the perfect opportunity to have the students examine the enclosures of the various animals to look for ideas for their own enclosure designs. We also had the opportunity to see how the animals are cared for, both their health and their enclosures. A few of us had the chance to see a hippo get his teeth brushed! Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who were able to help make this trip a success!   Monday's Field Study Our field study on Monday has been cancelled.
